Intro

Let’s dive in…

Special edition newsletter — the We, Robot recap. In case you missed it, Tesla threw an event last night at the Warner Brothers Lot in Hollywood! Pretty cool IMO. The event was supposed to start at 7pm, but continued to play some sick techno music for about 40 mins until Franz took the stage.

It was great to see some familiar faces on the stream last night! Huge congratulations to everyone who contributed to making those products a reality. It’s always rewarding to take a step back and appreciate what we’ve accomplished together.

That being said…

Well, if you’ve been holding $TSLA this long, we can say that this is normal after an event day… Overall, the market sentiment seems tired of Elon’s over-promising of timelines.

While we didn’t go up as we were hoping for (guess we won’t be quitting our side quests just yet…), I’m not too surprised. This happens often and it always seems to bounce back. On a positive note, there were 49 more vehicles than we’re used to seeing on an event day — and like, 50 more robots.

As Usual, I Guess?

Late Start

Cybercab

At first glance, you’d think you’re looking at a Cybertruck molded into a Model Y. Still unsure how to feel about the 2-seater and massive trunk design, but I’m sure someone did the data analysis, right?…right?

The fleet of Cybercabs really put the vision into perspective that “the future should look like the future”.

Then we got to hear about inductive charging. We didn’t really get to see any images — unless I missed it, in which case, let me know. I was glad to see the return of the robotic charger, now in vacuum version!

Then, Elon made some jokes about public parks and parking lots. And from what I could gather on X, the audience thought it was a great demo experience! I think the UI and interior are super clean inside.

There’s that “one more thing” we’ve been missing. The crowd spotted this rolling in as Elon was speaking and seemed to be quite happy with what they saw.

My initial thoughts: awesome design, big fan. Where did they hide this thing?

It’s a futuristic, but yet, retro looking vehicle that seats up to 20 people. Looks sleek, but of course there’s the skeptics on TikTok who have been referring to it as a street cleaner or vacuum on wheels — but Tesla has always been known for designs that are not always conventional. I’m glad to see that trend continuing.

I wouldn’t mind if this thing drove me around SF, to be honest.

Optimus

Will this picture go down in the history books?

An army of Optimus’s? Optimi? surrounded by their creators.

Very impressive motor control movements! There were rumors circulating on X that humans were controlling them behind the curtains. Who knows.

I remember the bottom half of these walking around the office a few years ago, so the rate of progress is fantastic to see.

Reply and let me know your thoughts on my takes.

Congrats again to everyone’s contributions to these products!
